This photo was taken on the Salkantay Trail in Peru, during a quiet stretch of the hike where the landscape felt both simple and powerful.
What stood out to me was how the mountain shifted in layers, from the dark foothills, to the dry golden grass, into snow, and then sharp rock.
It was early, and the clouds were just starting to clear. The way the light hit the different textures made the mountain feel alive, like you could see time carved into each layer.
It was one of those moments where everything felt still, and all you could do was look.
