After seven days of trekking the Salkantay Trail, through harsh weather, steep climbs, and aching muscles, we finally stood here, at Machu Picchu, as the sun rose.
What struck me wasn’t just the stunning the view. It was the energy of the place. It was calm but immense, like the mountains were alive with something ancient.
We were exhausted, physically and mentally, but in this moment, everything clicked into place.
The journey, the effort, the discomfort. It all made sense. This wasn’t just the end of a trail, it was the final piece of something bigger.
This photo isn’t just a memory of the view. It’s a reminder of what it felt like to endure, to push through, and to be rewarded not just with a destination, but with a deeper sense of connection, to the land, to history, and to ourselves.
