The Mountain’s Parting Gift

Legs sore and the lungs feeling lighter.

We were just starting the descent into the jungle when we turned around and saw it…

The snow-covered peak behind us, perfectly framed by a deep valley, and a full rainbow cutting straight through it. 

The river below was crashing hard enough to send mist into the air, and the light hit it just right. 

We all just stood there. No one expected to see something like that. It didn’t feel real, more like a backdrop from a movie.

One of those moments where you forget how tired you are, and just take it all in.
